Visual & Performing Arts Day

Wakefield has so many talented students, VPAD was set up to showcase all students in the Wakefield public school system in both the visual and the performing arts.

Students from Grades K-8 are invited to the Galvin Middle School to first see the art projects of students from Grades 1-12 in the gymnasium.  Students are then brought to the auditorium to see WHS students involved in the Marching Band, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Chamber Singers, Chamber Strings and actors in the Spring musical.  It's a 45-minute production of song and dance that has the students dancing in the aisles.

Under the direction of Tom Bankert (Music Facilitator), Emily Holmes (Drama), Frances Burmeister (Chorus), Joy Schilling (Visual Arts) and the Wakefield Music Boosters, students young and old have a chance to enjoy the Arts and hopefully get motivated to join this great group of talented students!
