We are a group of volunteer parents whose children participate in the variety of performing arts in the Wakefield Public Schools. Through the Wakefield Music Boosters we support the Performing Arts Departments at ALL grade levels through financial and hands-on activities.
The Wakefield Music Boosters…
1) Hold a variety of fundraisers throughout the year including but not limited to our Fall Fundraiser mailing, the MICCA Marching Band Festival, and Visual & Performing Arts Day. This year, we're excited to be sponsoring our fourth Polar Express ride on Sunday, December 18th, 2011.
2) Help provide chaperones for all music events and football games
3) Have a budget that supports:
a. The elementary, Galvin and High School music departments to use for their respective music programs
b. The drama clubs at the Galvin and High Schools
c. Scholarships awarded to graduating seniors applying to college programs as a performing arts major
d. Families through financial support to defray the cost of the after-school private lesson program
e. Competition events for all performing arts groups
f. Buses to transport students from ALL the elementary schools in Wakefield to attend Performing Arts Day at the Galvin Middle School in the Spring
